Independence Day has been widely celebrated and we can't deny how much we adore and look forward to this day all year round.  No matter how old we are, we always enjoy the many ways it has been celebrated - with parades, picnics, carnivals, barbecues, fairs, and alas, the fireworks

You may spend the whole day at carnivals or enjoy a picnic with friends or have a family reunion but on the eve of the 4th of Julythere's nothing better to do than to watch the stunning display of fireworks as we marvel in its, well, magnificence. Because it simply is.

San Diego, America's Finest City, as it stands for its name, offers some of the best fireworks show in the country. If you still haven't decided where to watch the spectacular fireworks, here is the list of the best places to see fireworks in San Diego.


Annual Big Bay Boom Firework Show

Firework Shows starts at 9 pm
Located from 4 barges around North San Diego Bay, the show can be observed in Shelter Island, Harbor Island, the Embarcadero area and Seaport Village/Coronado Landing. Parking availability should always be considered so be sure to come early turn on the music  on 105.7FM to ensure a spot, bring a lawn chair and just enjoy the show. 


San Diego County Fair 4th of July Celebration

Fireworks start at 9 pm 
Can be observed throughout the entire Fairgrounds. Stay for more shows and concert after.

Free parking at our Main Beach and the Pier Parking Lot. Turn on your radio to KyXy 96.5 to hear the fireworks soundtrack for a really spectacular fireworks show from the OB Pier.

Get Ready for LEGOLAND California’s amazing 4th of July fireworks in Carlsbad, “Red, White and BOOM” activities like burlap sack races and water balloon tosses, Uncle Sam and the Statue of Liberty on stilts and fireworks light up the night sky. 



La Jolla Cove 4th of July

53rd Annual Independence Day Festival & Fireworks

Fireworks at 9:00 PM

Listen to live music by the Manny Cepeda Orchestra Quartet, Ke’Ahi & Halau Hula O Makalani Na Pilialoha, and the Jonathan Lee Band, and join other activities from 4pm - 8pm and will conclude with a special performance by Camp Pendleton’s 1st Marine Division Band and spectacular fireworks display.
